Manuscript Withdrawal Policy

The Global Open Access Journal of Science (GOAJS) considers manuscript withdrawal to be a serious matter. Authors are advised to avoid withdrawing a manuscript after submission unless there are valid ethical or academic reasons.

Before Peer Review

Authors may request to withdraw their manuscript before the peer review process begins by submitting a formal email to the editorial office. The request must come from the corresponding author and must include a valid reason for withdrawal.

During or After Peer Review

Withdrawal of a manuscript during or after peer review is discouraged. If an author insists on withdrawal during this stage, the following conditions apply:

  • A formal written request with a clear justification must be submitted.
  • All authors must agree to the withdrawal and confirm this in writing.
  • Withdrawals may be subject to an administrative processing fee to cover the editorial and review costs already incurred.

Unethical Withdrawal

If a manuscript is withdrawn without following proper procedures, or if authors fail to respond to communication after peer review, the journal may:

  • Blacklist the authors from future submissions for a certain period.
  • Report the unethical behavior to the authors' affiliated institutions.

After Acceptance or Publication

Withdrawal after acceptance is generally not permitted. Authors requesting to withdraw at this stage must provide a compelling reason, and the request will be reviewed by the editorial board. If a manuscript is already published, a formal retraction may be issued.

Retraction Policy

In cases involving ethical misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data falsification), the manuscript will be retracted in accordance with COPE guidelines, and a retraction notice will be published.
