Editorial Staff as Authors
GOAJS recognizes the importance of ensuring transparency and fairness in the editorial process. Therefore, when members of the editorial staff submit manuscripts to the journal, additional safeguards are implemented to maintain objectivity and prevent conflicts of interest.
Independent Review Process
If an editor or editorial board member submits an article to GOAJS:
- The manuscript will be handled through a fully blinded peer review process.
- An independent editor—who has no conflict of interest and is not affiliated with the submitting author—will be assigned to manage the review and editorial decision.
- The submitting editor will have no access to or influence over the peer review or editorial decision-making process for their own submission.
Disclosure
Any submissions authored by editorial staff will include a clear statement of the editorial role and will indicate that the article underwent independent peer review. Such transparency helps ensure trust in the editorial process and in the integrity of published research.
Conflict of Interest
All editorial staff, like other authors, must declare any potential conflicts of interest at the time of submission. These declarations will be disclosed in the published article where appropriate.
Commitment to Ethical Standards
GOAJS is committed to ethical publishing practices and strives to ensure that all manuscripts, including those authored by editorial members, are evaluated fairly and impartially.
