Editorial Procedures and Peer Review
GOAJS follows a rigorous editorial and peer review process to ensure the publication of high-quality, original, and ethically sound scientific research. The journal maintains transparency, fairness, and impartiality throughout the editorial process.
Submission and Initial Screening
- All manuscripts are submitted online through the journal’s submission system.
- The editorial office conducts an initial screening to ensure the manuscript complies with the journal’s scope, formatting guidelines, and ethical standards.
- Manuscripts may be desk-rejected at this stage if they do not meet the minimum criteria.
Peer Review Process
GOAJS uses a double-blind peer review system, where both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other. The process includes:
- Assignment of the manuscript to an appropriate section editor or handling editor.
- Invitation of at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.
- Reviewers evaluate the manuscript for originality, methodology, clarity, and contribution to the field.
- Editors make a decision based on reviewers' recommendations: accept, minor/major revision, or reject.
Editorial Decision-Making
- Final decisions are made by the editor-in-chief or designated editor, taking into account all reviewer feedback.
- Editors are expected to maintain neutrality and disclose any conflicts of interest.
- Authors receive detailed review comments to guide revisions where applicable.
Revisions and Resubmission
Authors may be asked to revise their manuscript in response to reviewer comments. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to reviewers for further evaluation before a final decision is made.
Appeals and Disputes
Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a formal request with justification. Appeals are reviewed by an independent editorial board member or ethics committee to ensure fair consideration.
Transparency and Integrity
GOAJS upholds the integrity of the editorial process by maintaining confidentiality, avoiding conflicts of interest, and ensuring that all submissions are treated with impartiality and respect.
